Q: What is the official Utah Valley University student ID card?
A: There are two options for the student ID: OneCard or PlusCard. Either card is the official identification card for UVU. Both contain your picture and student ID number and allow you access to the Testing Center, library, athletic events, PE facilities, student activities, campus purchases (GreenBucks) and many other events and activities on campus including a UTA bus pass. The PlusCard can also be your ATM and Visa Check card.
Q: What is the PlusCard?
A: The Plus Card is a UVU student ID combined with a Visa debit card also known as a Visa check card. When you make purchases the amount is automatically subtracted from your checking account at Utah Community Credit Union (UCCU).
Q: Is there a cost to get a PlusCard or OneCard?
A: No. Your first PlusCard or OneCard is issued at no charge. Charges for additional features (UTA EdPass, door access, MAWL pass, etc) apply. Lost, stolen, or damaged cards will be replaced at the current replacement fee.
Q: How do I get a PlusCard or OneCard?
A: Registered students stop by Campus Connection and provide valid government-issued photo identification, such as a driver’s license or passport and get your picture taken. Newly hired employees must also provide proof of employment. International students must provide a valid student Visa. For a PlusCard you will need to open a checking account with UCCU (if you don’t already have one) at any UCCU branch.
Q: Is Utah Community Credit Union (UCCU) the only financial institution offering the PlusCard ID program?
A: Yes, UCCU is the exclusive ID card partner of UVU. In order to get the PlusCard, you need to open a checking account at any UCCU branch location, or at the on-campus branch in the UVU Student Center. To find a branch or ATM near you, please click www.uccu.com/home/uccu/locations.
Q: If I already have a checking account at UCCU, do I have to open another account to use the PlusCard?
A: No. Your current UCCU checking account will work.
Q: I have a checking account at another financial institution, why should I consider Checking through UCCU?
A: Only UCCU gives you the ability to bank through your UVU ID card, including the ability to make Visa purchases anywhere Visa is accepted. And, every time you use your PlusCard for a Visa signature-based purchase, it benefits UVU.
